Week 6

If your team is 5-0 or 4-1, you know you’re a contender. If you’re 0-5 or 1-4 please stop reading. This is a key week for those teams that are 3-2 or 2-3. Retirement, trades and toes are all causing a stir this week so here we go.

Kurt Warner- scared his fantasy owners by considering retirement last week. Warner blamed his high pass for the scary injury to receiver Anquan Boldin. Fortunately, Boldin is expected to make a full recovery from facial surgery and the 37-year-old gunslinger is here to stay. Warner has created quite a dilemma for his owners. Owners drafted him as a bye week quarterback or quality backup to the stars. He currently ranks sixth overall in fantasy points and is a must start. I currently have Peyton Manning and Warner on my team and I am looking to deal Manning. Just don’t retire Kurt.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh
- could be traded before the week 7-trade deadline. Unfortunately for Housh owners, the 49ers is the team inquiring. Houshmandzadeh would eventually get his targets, yardage and touchdowns, but it would take at least a few games to adjust to Mike Martz’s offensive. Housh is also a free agent after this season so any team trading for him would likely want a long-term contract in place first.

Roy Williams
- is a receiver that Martz is very familiar with and is on the trade market. Williams has struggled this year with only one touchdown and an injured quarterback. Last season, in Martz’s offense, Williams only had an average year catching 63 passes for 836 yards and five touchdowns, but he can contribute immediately. He would be the clear cut number one receiver on the 49ers where as he plays second fiddle to Calvin Johnson in Detroit.

LaDanian Tomlinson- will be bothered by this toe injury all season. Fantasy owners need to realize that the LT they drafted with the first or second overall pick is gone and not coming back. With that being said, LT is still one of the most reliable backs in the league. The running back position has been watered down by back ups and in the case of the Giants and Raiders third string backs. This is the regular season so we know he’ll play through pain. Trading him for another running back not named Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson or Marshawn Lynch is absurd.

DeAngelo Williams
- gave his fantasy owners exactly what they needed. His three touchdown performance against the defensively challenged Chiefs raised his stock just enough to have trade value. Every owner should be shopping him this week before he hangs a goose egg against the Buccaneers. Jonathan Stewart is still the touchdown guy for the Panthers and Williams should not be considered more than a flex option.

BUZZ NOTES FOR WEEK 6-

Jay Cutler-
leads all fantasy scoring with 94 points. Aaron Rodgers is second with 93.

Michael Turner-
has eight more points than any other running back with 89

Greg Jennings–
leads the receiving core with 72 points. Larry Fitzgerald is second with 69.

Jason Witten- is crushing his counterparts with 54 points. He has 18 more points than any other tight end.

Mike Prater- is proving it must be the altitude. He leads all kickers with 60 points.

Tennessee Titans Defense- has 74 fantasy points. That is 18 more points than they have allowed to their opponents in five games.
