Stock Up
SHAUN HILL (QB-SF): While Hill will never have the arm to be confused with Jay Cutler, the emerging San Francisco signal caller has picked up where he left off at the end of last season with his pin-point accurate passing. In addition, Hill has been outstanding at quickly reading coverages and anticipating his receivers. His wide outs, such as “The Reverend” Isaac Bruce, have found new life under his guidance.
RYAN GRANT (RB-GB): A hamstring pull suffered by the one-time Giant in training camp has deprived Grant of the burst he exhibited last year. The big downhill runner has continued to be Green Bay’s plowhorse , however, by gaining the tough yards inside. Look for Grant to see lots of carries as dropping temperatures turn most fields into hard and slow surfaces.
DOMINIC RHODES (RB-IND): As Joseph Addai trudges through an injury-riddled season, expect Indianapolis to lean more heavily on the trusty Rhodes. The versatile 5’9” back hits his holes quickly as well as being a reliable receiver and someone who can be counted on to pick up the blitz.
DEVIN HESTER (WR-CHI): The former Hurricane has become a prime focal point of Chicago’s passing game with the coaching staff continuing to look for ways to get the ball in his hands. If not for a few dropped passes versus Jacksonville last week, Hester could’ve really gone off. The speed merchant’s run-after-catch ability is second to none.

BRETT FAVRE (QB-NYJ): The lack of a training camp may finally be catching up to the 39-year-old future Hall-of-Famer. Favre has been having a very difficult time throwing the ball downfield with any accuracy lately. The former Packer may be physically spent.

CLINTON PORTIS (RB-WASH): Injuries to Washington’s two starting tackles (Chris Samuels and Jon Jansen) have prevented head coach Jim Zorn from implementing his schemes, which has had a negative effect on both the running and passing games. The fact that Portis is playing with neck, hip and knee injuries will make things that much more difficult for the back of many disguises.
LEE EVANS (WR-BUF): While many have speculated better numbers for Evans with quarterback J.P. Losman in the lineup, the Tulane product has looked downright awful and confused in trying to fill in for a banged-up Trent Edwards. Evans can always break free for a big play, but don’t expect the moon from the 27-year-old speedster as long as he’s playing with a field general who’s lost in space.
ROY WILLIAMS (WR-DAL): This big-name wide out has been a total non-factor ever since arriving in Big D. An injured foot may be part of the problem, but it doesn’t totally explain his total lack of chemistry with Tony Romo.
