Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars |
After two disappointing losses at Lambeau, the Packers will hit the road and face another underachieving team in Jacksonville. There was some buzz about Ryan Grant’s thumb injury before his last game, but he ran for 104 yards on 19 carries against Houston, so his health is not in question against the Jags’ weak pass defense. Jacksonville has had trouble pressuring the passer this season, so Aaron Rodgers should have plenty of time to throw. Though he has thrown six interceptions over his last four games, he’s backed them up with nine touchdown tosses and has reached solid yardage totals in each game. Donald Driver and Greg Jennings are dependable receiving options, and tight end Donald Lee has caught a touchdown pass in the three of the last four games.
The Jags are riddled with absences, now having lost Fred Taylor and Jerry Porter to possible season-ending injuries, and Matt Jones to a season-ending suspension. Green Bay’s secondary is aggressive, and has more interceptions that touchdown passes allowed this season, but has slipped in recent weeks, giving up 914 passing yards over the last three games. David Garrard could be in for a good yardage total, but he’ll be chased around the pocket and will be a prime turnover candidate considering his track record this year. Couple that with his lack of receiving options, and Maurice Jones-Drew is really the only solid fantasy option on the Jags. Reggie Williams and Marcedes Lewis will likely pick up the slack for the missing Porter and Jones, but none of Jacksonville’s receivers have been incredibly consistent anyway.
