Brandon Morrow, in his first start sicne being recalled from AAA, took a no hitter into the 8th inning against the Yankees on Friday night.
A
Wilson Betemit RBI double with two outs drove in Hideki Matsui to bring the score to 3-1 Seattle.
Morrow ended up striking out 8 in the contest.
Morrow threw 104 pitches and gave up only that one hit. It's too bad that a pinch hitter like Wilson Betemit broke up the no-hitter, considering Brandon had retired Jeter, Damon, Arod, Giambi, Matsui, Cano, Nady and Abreau 24 times prior to that AB.
Our early rankings have him
ranked 36th amongst SP's for next year.
Expect more quality starts from Morrow as he shows both the Mariners and fantasy owners what he's capable of doing.
